How do I know if the reader is in 1-Factor or 2-Factor mode?

Last Updated: Sep 05, 2013 11:35AM PDT
If the reader does not have a keypad, it was shipped from the factory, set to 1-Factor (card only) mode.
If the reader has a keypad, it was shipped from the fatory, set to 2-Factor (card + PIN) mode. When the reader is in 2-Factor mode, it will not respond to 1-Factor contactless or contact-only operation.
The reader can be switched from 2-Factor to 1-Factor mode from the system panel by pulling the LED2 relay low.
Confirm that the reader is in 1-Factor mode before testing contactless operation. If possible, test with more than one card. There may be a problem with the contactless antenna on one of the cards you are testing.

Note: This solution is for BridgePoint NX model readers being utilized in PIN-to-Card (not PIN-to-Panel) mode.
